The Role

As a Senior RF Hardware Engineer, you will own the design, manufacture, test, and deployment of highly integrated RF devices for space customers. You will work with a small team of software, hardware, and FPGA engineers to shepherd products from initial design to vehicle integration, taking a full-stack approach to building robust space communications systems.

Responsibilities

Develop and own RF products across PCB, box, and integration levels
Own trades and analyses on new designs and question requirements
Bring up, troubleshoot, and qualify new designs
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to enable large-scale manufacture

Required Experience

5+ years designing circuitry in RF bands across frontend and conversion chains
End-to-end PCB design experience, including schematic capture, layout, fabrication and assembly
Experience with Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS, and Altium Designer
Excellent understanding of RF metrics: S-parameters, P1dB, noise figure, channel power, and EVM
Excellent understanding of RF cascades, link budgets, and noise analysis
Experience with test instruments: oscilloscopes, power supplies, VNAs, spectrum analyzers
Experience with low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, mixers, ADCs/DACs, phased locked loops, oscillators, and filters

Desired Skills

Complex PCB design in Altium Designer
Component selection for radiation-susceptible environments
Experience with AD9361, Xilinx RFSoC, and similar digital-analog conversion interfaces
Soldering and reworking boards (0402 SMP components, QFN packages)
Communications link modeling and DSP fundamentals
Antenna design, simulation, and measurement in near-field/far-field regimes
High-PAPR signals and DPD concepts
