About the Role
Apex Space manufactures satellite buses at scale for the commercial space industry. We seek a skilled Spacecraft Technician to lead assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of our spacecraft. You will work on aerospace structures, avionics systems, and harnesses to ensure successful development and deployment.
What You Will Do
- Perform assembly, integration, and testing activities for satellite and spacecraft projects, following engineering specifications, procedures, and safety protocols
- Conduct structural assembly tasks including component installation, mechanical fastening, bonding, and precision alignment
- Integrate avionics systems, electronic components, sensors, and wiring harnesses with proper connections and routing
- Perform system-level functional tests: electrical continuity, power distribution, communication, and sensor verification
- Utilize precision measurement tools to ensure adherence to dimensional requirements and alignment tolerances
- Participate in environmental testing: thermal vacuum, vibration, and shock testing to validate performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during assembly and integration with engineers and technicians
- Support development and maintenance of procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, test results, and anomalies
- Contribute to continuous improvement of assembly and integration processes
- Stay updated with latest advancements in satellite and spacecraft testing methodologies
What You Need
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in satellite or spacecraft assembly and integration, specifically in aerospace structures, avionics, and harnessing
- Proficiency in precision assembly techniques: mechanical fastening, bonding, and alignment
- Strong understanding of aerospace electrical systems, avionics, and wiring harnesses
- Experience conducting system-level functional tests and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with environmental testing methods: thermal vacuum, vibration, and shock testing
- Working knowledge of precision measurement tools used in satellite and spacecraft assembly
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing quality standards and processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in teams with engineers and technicians
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to team members

Shift and Compensation
2nd Shift Hours: 2PM to 10:30PM with 10% shift differential
