Flight Software Associate (Fall 2026)
Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits. Today, Astranis satellites provide dedicated, secure networks to large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. With five satellites on orbit and many more launching soon, the company is servicing a backlog of more than $1 billion of commercial contracts.
This is a 12-week salaried associate program for new graduates and recent grad students from four-year universities. You will work on meaningful, challenging projects alongside the engineering team. Many past associates have designed and tested hardware and software now on orbit, and many are now full-time employees at Astranis.
What you will do
- Work with the engineering team to design, write and test software (embedded software running on satellites, as well as ground control and testing software)
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
- Experience with C/C++ and scripting language(s)
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, write, and test software from scratch
- US Citizenship or Green Card
- 40 hours per week minimum
- Must be onsite in San Francisco 5 days a week
Nice to have
- Experience with embedded systems running on bare metal
- Experience with real time operating systems
- Experience with FPGA or DSP programming
Compensation
Base salary: $1,925 per week.
