Flight Software Intern (Fall 2026)
Internships at Astranis last twelve weeks and are hourly roles for students currently enrolled at four-year universities.
You will work with the engineering team to design, write, and test software: embedded software running on satellites, plus ground control and testing software. You'll have the chance to work on meaningful projects with real impact - past interns have designed and tested hardware and software now flying on Astranis satellites, and many have stayed on as full-time employees.
What you'll do
- Design, write, and test embedded software for satellites
- Develop ground control and testing software
- Collaborate with the engineering team on challenging problems
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
- Experience with C/C++ and scripting languages
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, write, and test software from scratch
Nice to have
- Experience with embedded systems on bare metal
- Real-time operating systems
- FPGA or DSP programming
Compensation
Base hourly pay: $29.00 USD
Eligibility
U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required (to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations).
