About Cowboy Space
Cowboy Space is building infrastructure to power and connect the orbital economy. Our satellites in low Earth orbit collect sunlight and enable new capabilities: powering on-orbit compute, transmitting energy via infrared lasers (space-to-earth and space-to-space), and delivering secure, high-bandwidth optical data.
The Role
We are hiring propulsion engineers to design, analyze, build, test, and integrate propulsion systems for aerospace applications. This role offers meaningful ownership over flight-critical hardware in a highly technical, hands-on environment.
Depending on your background and experience, you may work across one or more of these areas:
- Propulsion system architecture
- Fluid systems
- Combustion and thermal analysis
- Pressurized systems
- Test infrastructure and operations
- Integration and qualification testing
- Feed systems, valves, regulators, and tanks
- Engine controls and embedded systems
- Ground support equipment (GSE)
What We're Looking For
We seek engineers with experience in:
- Rocket propulsion
- Satellite propulsion
- Fluid systems engineering
- Cryogenic systems
- Thermal systems
- Test engineering
- GNC/controls related to propulsion
- High-pressure or harsh-environment systems
Preferred Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience designing or supporting propulsion or fluid-based systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- CAD, analysis, testing, or integration experience relevant to propulsion hardware
Compensation and Benefits
- Equity in Cowboy Space Corp.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Paid time off
- 10 paid holidays per calendar year
- Paid parental leave
