About Hubble Network

Hubble Network is building a global Bluetooth network dedicated to machine-to-machine connectivity. We're the first modem-less, gateway-less direct-to-satellite network from off-the-shelf Bluetooth Low Energy chips. Our applications span logistics, AgTech, and maritime asset tracking at scale.

The Role

We seek an experienced Senior Embedded Engineer to architect and implement software for our satellite systems. This hands-on position works closely with hardware, RF, and operations teams to develop high-reliability embedded software that powers our constellation.

You will act as a technical leader, translating system-level requirements into robust, efficient embedded solutions for the harsh space environment. You'll work across the full embedded stack: low-level device drivers to application-level software managing satellite operations, while contributing to the architecture of our next-generation satellite platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality, maintainable code in Python and C for satellite command scripts and performance-critical embedded applications
  • Design, implement, and maintain embedded Linux systems for satellite payloads, including kernel configuration, driver development, and system optimization
  • Develop and debug device drivers for SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet and peripherals including ADCs, DACs, DDR memory controllers, and custom hardware
  • Contribute to satellite flight software design and implementation, including command and data handling, telemetry systems, and autonomous operations
  • Lead board bring-up activities for new hardware, validating designs, debugging interfaces, and commissioning new systems
  • Design software aware of space-specific challenges: radiation effects (SEUs, latch-up), thermal constraints, and power budgets

What We Value

  • Hands-on engineers who move seamlessly between architecture, implementation, and debugging with real hardware daily
  • Cross-functional collaboration with RF engineers, digital design engineers, mechanical engineers, and operations staff
  • Proficiency with modern development tools: Git, Jira, Confluence, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers
  • A sense of urgency and drive to lead projects from concept to reality
  • High learning agility and initiative to sharpen engineering foundations and collaborate across disciplines
  • System-level thinking, excellent communication, and anticipation of evolving needs in an early-stage company

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven track record delivering embedded systems for production hardware, preferably in Aerospace, Defense, or high-reliability domains
  • Expert-level C programming: deep understanding of memory management, real-time constraints, and optimization techniques
  • Expert-level Python: strong skills in scripting, automation, test frameworks, and ground system integration
  • Solid embedded Linux proficiency: kernel configuration, device drivers, build root/Yocto or similar
  • Demonstrated ability with SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet and other common protocols; experience with ADCs, DACs, and memory interfaces (DDR)
  • Hardware debug skills: comfortable with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for the space environment: radiation hardening techniques, thermal management, single-event effects
  • FPGA integration experience: interfacing with or developing alongside FPGAs, common communication interfaces (AXI, PCIe, custom parallel buses), register-mapped peripheral access, and collaborative bring-up with digital design engineers

Employment Details

Full-time position based in Seattle, WA.

Salary: $126,000 to $249,000 per year (determined by experience level, technical depth, and interview performance).

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and HSA options
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Commuter benefits (if working from HQ)
  • Learning and development allowance
  • Health and wellness stipend
  • Sabbatical program
