To help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking an Avionics Engineering Technician level I, II, or Sr to support design, integration, testing, and maintenance of the Talon-A hypersonic vehicle electrical and avionics systems.  You will create shop definition including drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions. You must be comfortable as a liaison to the shop to install and modify existing aircraft subsystems. This position will include evaluation of a broad range of technical data. Candidates must have an aerospace development background and relevant experience in aerospace systems integration

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the flight operations by acting as the engineering liaison to troubleshoot electrical and avionics ground test issues
  • Design, manufacture, and operate electrical ground support equipment
  • Create drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to install or modify electrical and/or avionics subsystems
  • Support the shop by acting as the engineering liaison to troubleshoot documentation issues and provide real-time support on the shop floor
  • Regular and comprehensive communication to your lead
  • Contribute to the integration of complex aerospace systems
  • Travel, as needed, to support the department
  • Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, one or more of these disciplines: electrical engineering, avionics, experimental aircraft and/or launch vehicle integration
  • Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems
  • Experience with the creation of shop work instructions, including wiring diagrams and drawings
  • Direct hands-on experience with aircraft electrical system installation and best practices
  • Facilitation skills and ability to communicate technical challenges and guidance to varied audiences to gain support or resolve concerns
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals
  • Complex aerospace system development
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Environmental testing experience
  • Security clearance

 

Required Computer Skills:

  • Wiring diagram tools: Siemens Capital Logic/Harness, or equivalent
  • Lab equipment: Oscilloscopes, multimeters, AC/DC power supplies, signal generators
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

 

Preferred Computer Skills:

  • Siemens Capital/Mentor Graphics
  • 3D CAD modeling experience - NX, CATIA, or Solidworks
  • Curtiss-Wright IADS or Labview
  • Familiarity with configuration management systems - Jira (preferred)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Engr Tech I ($32.00-$46.45): Relevant experience in engineering discipline or 0-10 years as technician in relevant discipline. CAD experience.
  • Engr Tech II ($40.00-$57.90): Strong relevant experience in engineering discipline or 5-15 years as technician in relevant discipline. Proficiency with CAD.
  • Sr Engr Tech ($48.60-$63.75): Strong relevant experience in engineering discipline or 10+ years as technician in relevant discipline. Strong proficiency with CAD.

Special remarks regarding work environment, if applicable

  • Position on-site based in Mojave, CA
  • Travel, as needed, to support the department. Travel estimated to be <5%
