We are seeking a Spacecraft Systems Engineer to design, develop, and test whole spacecraft systems and subsystems. You will work across all phases of a satellite's product lifecycle, from proposal and concept through initial and final design to testing and final operations, ensuring all systems meet the desired function, performance, and reliability of the mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Push the technical design for critical satellite programs forward
  • Derive and maintain system requirements to ensure mission success
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define mission ConOps
  • Develop subsystem budgets
  • Plan test activities for verification
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary experts
  • Track system compliance and overall performance to mission needs
  • Lead teams through technical milestones such as MCR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and PSR
  • Author Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and other systems engineering documentation
  • Interact directly with customers and suppliers to ensure mission success

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, spacecraft design, or a related field, with hands-on experience in satellite design and integration
  • Previous experience with derivation and maintenance of requirements from system level down to lower levels
  • Ability to create system-level budgets (mass, power, dV, pointing, link, etc.) and track throughout project lifecycle
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and disciplines
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, spacecraft design, or a related field, with hands-on experience in satellite design and integration
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and applicable software such as Cameo, Capella, Innoslate, or others
  • Experience with satellite analysis tools such as Python, Matlab, STK, GMAT, or FreeFlyer
  • Experience with requirement management tools such as Jama, Doors, Flow, or others
  • Previous experience in a startup work environment
  • Full product lifecycle experience: initial concept design, preliminary design, manufacturing, testing, and operations

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 USD
